The Cowichan Bowmen Archery Club
is comprised of archers, from novice to advanced, who enjoy a wide range of archery activities, from just for fun, to shooting competitions, or just the need to hone their hunting skills. Members range from age 4, to those who can still pull a bow and think young. Archers shoot year round practicing and competing in indoor and outdoor target shoots, attending 3D competitions, shooting in our Winter League Field Shoots, and hunt, using all types of bows including traditional long bows, recurve bows, and compound bows. For the youngsters, there is the Junior Olympian Program (JOP), which is a developmental program through the BC Archery Association. The program provides junior archers with opportunities for individualized coaching, camaraderie, competency badges, and exposure to varying competition styles and events.
Our facilities include a clubhouse with a full kitchen, lounge and washrooms, along with a well lit 10 lane, 18 meter indoor range. Outside, there is a 3 acre outdoor target range that also includes a sandpit for the use of broad head arrows. There is also a 16 target Field course that ambles through the forest of the club's 13.8 acre property. For visitors to the club's larger competitions, there is a camping and picnic area set close to the clubhouse. The clubhouse, indoor range, and outdoor target range are all wheelchair accessible to accommodate wheelchair archery enthusiasts. Our Club facilities are available to rent on a limited basis, and is great for birthday parties, or for a club or group experience, etc.
